Mohamed El Damarawy

About Mohamed El Damarawy

95 Artworks
Born in Beheira in 1981, Mohamed El Damarawy is a promising Egyptian artist on the rise. he graduated from Luxor's Faculty of Fine Arts in 2003 and held his first exhibition in 2005. He has since gone onto exhibit in several solo and group exhibitions around Egypt, most recently at Arts-Mart's Artists of Tomorrow exhibition in early 2015. El Damarawy's work is full of character and he explores traditional themes in very creative colourful ways. Like many younger artists, he has been heavily influenced by the pioneer generation of artists and has very cleverly and skilfully applied this passion to his own work, creating a very special and unique character. His characters are typical Egyptians, with clear references to the art and depictions of Ancient Egypt, by which he is deeply intrigued. His wonderful compositions and brilliant use of colour guarantee this artist a place among the upcoming generation of Egyptian greats. See more
