The Arts-Mart Gallery is pleased to announce the gallery’s second ‘Orchestra In Art’ event, The Three Egyptian Tenors.
Our initiative aims to bring together the visual and performing arts to create a captivating artistic and cultural experience where a full orchestra performs amidst a specially curated exhibition of Egyptian contemporary art.
For this Orchestra in Art event, world renowned conductor Nader Abassi will be joined by international award-winning Egyptian tenors Hany Abdelzaher, Ragaa Eldin, and Amr Medhat to perform masterpieces of the Italian opera and the Neapolitan songs, such as “O Sole Mio” and “Nessun Dorma”.
The Three Egyptian Tenors is an homage to the famous original Three Tenors; Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras, a popular operatic singing group during the 1990s and early 2000s. They rank among the most successful performers within the world of classical music. Their debut concert held in Rome in 1990 drew an international television viewership of over one billion people.
Ragaa Eldin, a young Egyptian tenor, is not a stranger to the local operatic scene. Over the past years he has also made a big impression on the international stage where he was received with well-deserved acclaim. In 2017 he was the winner of the Best Tenor in the 19th International Tenors Tournament in Poland. Ragaa Eldin has participated in many competitions including the International Voice competition Spaziomusica in Italy and he was the semi-finalist of the international voice competition Wilhelm Stenhammar in Sweden.
Joining Ragaa Eldin on stage is Amr Medhat, another young Egyptian tenor born in 1984. Medhat has participated in Materclasses in the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Professor Horiana Branisteanu as well as in Finland with the internationally acclaimed Tom Krause and tenor Jorma Silvasti. His repertoire includes Riccardo in Un Ballo In Maschera, Alfredo in La Traviata, Rodolfo in La Boheme and many others.
Hany Abdelzaher is the third Egyptian tenor performing in our Orchestra In Art’s second event. Currently living in Salzburg, Abdelzaher made his debut as Nerone in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea in a performance of the opera productions of the Mozarteum Salzburg. Since then, Abdelzaher has performed internationally in countries such as Russia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria and many more. In 2018, he has a tour with the Vienna Philharmonica Orchestra performing Tito in Le Clemenza di Tito by Mozart in the Vienna Concert House.
Orchestra In Art aims to create a meaningful interaction between the audience and the arts, raising awareness about local artists across both the performing and visual arts platforms. The Three Egyptian Tenors will bring forth a memorable experience with the needed message of love, joy, understanding and unity through the arts.
The concert will take place amidst a special art exhibition by some of our most prolific Egyptian artists, including:
Abdel Wahab Abdel Mohsen, Adham Badawy, Alaa Abul Hamd, Aya El Fallah, Ayyad El Nimer, Britt Boutros Ghali, Deena Fadel, Engie Ezeldin, Gamal Meleka, Ibrahim El Tanbouli, Klay Kassem, Lina Mowafy, Mahmoud El Dewehy, Mohamed Abou Elwafa, Mohamed Banawy, Mohamed El Damarawy, Mohamed El Sharkawy, Mohamed Rabie, Mohamed Sabry, Mostafa Rahma, Omar Abdelzaher, Samir Fouad, Sayed Saad Eldin and many more.
